A Prefeitura de Campo Grande, por meio da Sisep (Secretaria Municipal de Infraestrutura e Serviços Públicos) já está trabalhando para preparar a Praça do Papa para receber o público e as escolas de samba que estarão se apresentando nas noites dos dias 12 e 13 de fevereiro, nas festividades de Carnaval.
A Sisep está fazendo a limpeza e preparando os espaços onde serão montados as arquibancadas e os camarotes. Além disso, a secretaria está fazendo as instalações elétricas do local de concentração das escolas de samba, da Praça de Alimentação, camarotes, das duas torres onde ficarão os jurados e das tendas onde estarão instalados os órgãos municipais como Sesau (Secretaria Municipal de Saúde), GCM (Guarda Civil Metropolitana), Defesa Civil e Samu.
Tudo está sendo executando em sintonia com a Lienca (Liga das Entidades Carnavalescas de Campo Grande). “Com o apoio da Prefeitura vamos fazer o melhor Carnaval dos últimos tempos”, afirma o presidente da Lienca, Alan Coelho Catharinelli.
Alan está na Liga há 10 anos, cumpre o segundo mandado como presidente, e diz que neste ano a administração municipal tem dado uma atenção especial, além dos recursos financeiros, também com a montagem da estrutura.

No Carnaval 2024, o total de seis escolas de samba concorrem ao título. A abertura será às 19h do dia 12 de fevereiro, com o Herdeiros do Samba.
Na sequência tem início o desfile das escolas: Cinderela, Vila Carvalho e Catedráticos do Samba. No dia 13, também a partir das 19h, entram na avenida a Deixa Falar, Igrejinha e Unidos do Cruzeiro. A apuração dos votos e divulgação do resultado será no dia 14, a partir das 15h, no Teatro de Arena do Horto. A premiação será no dia 16, às 19h, no Armazém Cultural.
