A Fundação Cultural de João Pessoa (Funjope) está apoiando a exposição ‘Eu quero me ver’, que reúne 50 fotografias do artista visual e xilógrafo José Altino. A mostra será aberta nesta quarta-feira (7), às 16h16, e segue até a terça-feira (13), na Galeria do Ateliê Multicultural Elioenai Gomes, que fica na Praça Dom Adauto, 35, Centro. Na abertura, haverá participação do mestre da gaita Pé de Manga e da tribo Carnavalesca Tabajara, além de uma batucada e a dança do toré.
O diretor executivo da Funjope, Marcus Alves, afirma que a Fundação acolhe com muito carinho esse projeto do Nai Gomes, do Ateliê Multicultural, pela sua importância. Ele explica que a exposição apresenta um conjunto de fotos que retrata a memória e revela a importância do Carnaval Tradição.
“Isso é muito significativo para todos nós. Também tem um aspecto de manter a presença do José Altino, um artista que tem dado uma contribuição muito boa à cultura e às artes de João Pessoa. Nós, da Funjope, acolhemos essa ideia do Ateliê Multicultural, e estamos dando o suporte para que ela possa se desenvolver plenamente. Com ‘Eu quero me ver’, o artista José Altino celebra o seu olhar para as tribos indígenas. A mostra, que acontece durante o Carnaval Tradição, busca passar para o visitante mais informações sobre a beleza visual das tribos, com sua música e dança.
“A exposição tem uma importância ímpar que é celebrar esse artista que tem mais de 50 anos de serviços artísticos culturais prestados na nossa cidade, no estado e no país. É um representante da xilogravura, um dos mestres que ensinou muita gente. Esse momento é uma celebração de todos esses anos, resgatando e fortalecendo a imagem de José Altino, que tem 52 anos dedicados à arte”, exaltou o artista multicultural Nai Gomes.
Esta, segundo ele, será a primeira de uma sequência de exposições diferentes. “Como ele é um amante da cultura popular, gosta muito das tribos indígenas e há muito tempo vem fotografando o Carnaval Tradição”, comentou.
O acervo que compõe a exposição inclui fotos com um olhar pessoal debruçado para a cultura popular, principalmente para as tribos indígenas carnavalescas. “Essa exposição tem uma programação visual feita por mim e por ele”, destacou Nai Gomes. Além da Funjope, a exposição conta com o apoio da Liga do Carnaval Tradição e da Marcha da Negritude Unificada da Paraíba.
