Aluno da Rede Municipal de Ensino vence o Campeonato Paraibano de Xadrez Escolar

O aluno da Rede Municipal de Ensino de João Pessoa, Luigi Miguel Araújo de Oliveira, estudante da Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental Bilingue Dom José Maria Pires, sagrou-se campeão paraibano de xadrez, na categoria sub-12. O torneio foi organizado pela Federação Paraibana de Xadrez e aconteceu neste sábado (6) na Associação dos Servidores do Instituto Federal de Educação da Paraíba (IFPB), no município de Cabedelo.

O estudante, campeão paraibano na categoria sub-12, faz parte do Projeto Xadrez Escolar da Prefeitura de João Pessoa, que esteve representado nesta etapa do campeonato estadual por alunos das escolas municipais Dom José Maria Pires, Leônidas Santiago e Apolônio Sales.

O aluno do sétimo ano revelou que está muito feliz com a conquista e projeta planos para o futuro. “Já participei de quatro torneios e estou muito feliz com a vitória. O que me fascina no xadrez são as várias possibilidades que tem em um tabuleiro de 64 casas. Quero seguir jogando, pois penso em chegar em um torneio de nível mundial”, ressaltou o estudante. A mãe do campeão, Mônica Soares de Araújo comemora a vitória do filho. “Eu estou muito feliz com a conquista dele, pois vejo seu esforço e dedicação”. Ela revelou que o filho é muito dedicado e pratica o xadrez todos os dias. Higino Luiz de Oliveira Neto, pai do estudante, revelou que está muito feliz com a conquista do filho. “O xadrez é uma atividade muito importante para o desenvolvimento intelectual. Estou muito feliz e orgulhoso por essa conquista do Luigi Miguel”, ressaltou.

“Ao ensinar o xadrez aos alunos da rede municipal, o sentimento que temos é de enorme satisfação e a certeza de que estamos no caminho certo quanto ao objetivo traçado, que é de disponibilizar ao aluno uma matéria ainda tão pouco divulgada e utilizada como uma poderosa ferramenta pedagógica em nosso país. Além de propiciar aos alunos a saborosa sensação de se tornar campeão, um vencedor, apesar de tão tenra idade”, destacou Marcos Valério, professor de xadrez da Rede Municipal de Ensino.

Como participar – Para participar do Projeto Xadrez Escolar, basta que o aluno dê seu nome ao coordenador pedagógico da escola, que ele passará a frequentar as aulas de xadrez. Lembrando que, para essa participação, alunos devem verificar os colégios onde existe a disciplina na grade curricular, a exemplo das escolas municipais Apolônio Sales, Dom José Maria Pires e Leônidas Santiago.

No Projeto Xadrez Escolar, a disciplina está inserida no contexto escolar municipal de forma eletiva, onde é disponibilizado ao aluno a escolha do aprendizado do xadrez. No ambiente escolar, são praticados a sensibilização e o estímulo a esse aprendizado, através da exposição dos benefícios que acarreta no desenvolvimento do aluno ao longo de sua vida acadêmica.
