Esta semana o prefeito revelou que o projeto do VLT Cuiabano está pré-selecionado para ser uma das obras do Novo Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento (PAC) e que dará andamento aos trâmites para licitar a obra do modal. Segundo Pinheiro, a nova proposta está estimada em R$ 4.968.750 (quatro bilhões, novecentos e sessenta e oito milhões e setecentos e cinquenta reais) e contará com novos trechos que ampliarão o projeto inicial.
“O projeto do VLT Cuiabano, com seus complementos, foi pré-qualificado, foi pré-selecionado, ou seja, o sistema abriu e aceitou a nossa proposta. Com essa aprovação, será possível realizar o sonho do povo Cuiabano em ter um transporte sustentável, silencioso, digno, que vai promover não só o desenvolvimento econômico, urbano e social, mas vai garantir dignidade para os usuários do transporte coletivo. Vamos virar a página do transporte coletivo, colocando Cuiabá na linha de frente das grandes cidades do Brasil e do Mundo que adotaram o moderno sistema do VLT”, esclareceu o chefe do Executivo Municipal.
