Devido aos impactos e aos danos provocados pelas chuvas que caíram na cidade entre sábado (13/01) e domingo (14/01), o prefeito do Rio, Eduardo Paes, decretou situação de emergência no município. A decisão foi publicada em edição extra do Diário Oficial, na tarde deste domingo.
Na decisão, entre outras considerações, o prefeito justifica que a cidade entrou no Estágio 4 às 2h45 deste domingo, devido aos elevados acumulados pluviométricos em 24 horas, com diversas ocorrências em andamento, que provocaram impactos nas atividades de ordenamento, sobretudo na Zona Norte.
Com a declaração de situação de emergência, fica autorizada a mobilização de todos os órgãos municipais para atuarem nas ações de respostas necessárias à redução dos efeitos causados pelas chuvas.
