A Prefeitura de São José dos Campos emitiu a ordem de serviço para a Urbam (Urbanizadora Municipal) iniciar o funcionamento da Usina de Biogás nesta sexta-feira (9). Inclui a implantação, manutenção e gestão da Usina de Geração de Energia Elétrica a partir do Biogás (UGEEB).
A usina seguirá no modelo de geração distribuída, incluindo a gestão de compensação de crédito de energia elétrica junto a concessionárias com o objetivo de gerar economia em parte da demanda energética da Prefeitura.
Serão 974 instalações que terão créditos, ou seja, abatimento nas contas de energia dos prédios públicos pelo período de 50 meses. O valor do contrato é R$ 20,168 milhões. A iniciativa com o Biogás tem previsão de economizar R$ 15 milhões no custeio de energia, ou seja 36,7 % nas contas.
Fotovoltaica
Em 2023, a Prefeitura iniciou a implantação de usinas fotovoltaicas para geração de créditos nos prédios públicos da cidade. Além ser renovável e contribuir para o meio ambiente, pois preserva o uso de recursos naturais, a iniciativa está gerando economia no pagamento do consumo de eletricidade.
O resultado é economia inicial de 26,4% de desconto no uso para abastecer 43 prédios públicos e a Linha Verde. O projeto está sendo implantado gradativamente.
A energia limpa vem de uma fazenda de módulos fotovoltaicos em Cachoeira Paulista, cidade da Região Metropolitana do Vale do Paraíba, Litoral Norte e Serra da Mantiqueira que tem alto índice de densidade solar. São 11 mil metros quadrados de placas solares.
